If you want to make your own bread but don’t know how maybe I can help you.
I’ve used bread making as a route to a balanced mind and the tastiest breakfast table for as long as I can remember. Bread is not, despite what you may think, a dark art. It is hugely satisfying and therapeutic dynamite. Just the process of mixing and kneading the dough on your way to a beautifully baked loaf is an absolute joy.
Maybe you’ve mastered a standard white or brown loaf but you’re ready to take on the might of Sourdough.
Maybe you want to branch out into making your own croissants for an extra special weekend treat.
Perhaps you want to try different flours like Rye or Buckwheat, or you want to make bread with milk or even beer!
Recipes for making bread are everywhere but dough is a living thing and so feel is everything. Knowing what the loaf needs to look like before it goes into the oven, understanding the difference between under and over proving. Once these skills are gained you’ll be unstoppable, but a little bit of knowledge goes a hell of a long way when it comes to making a good loaf.
You will soon find yourself experimenting with different flours, different shapes, perfecting the crust, making pizzas that your friends and family will beg you for, and giving away a plethora of baked goods to adoring fans.
I don’t know anyone who makes their own bread that would even consider buying it from a supermarket or even most bakeries. Unless you are fortunate enough to live close to a true artisan baker gearing up in your own kitchen is the only way to go.
Whatever it is that you need to kickstart your enthusiasm for becoming a regular home baker I can help you on your way.
